Fans of Captain America weren’t debating the latest movie Captain America Civil War this week, instead they were debating another topic online, how much back pay Cap would be owed by the U.S. Military for 66 years worth of service since he was not discharged after he went missing in 1945.
Some hard core fans claimed that Captain America would be owed , while others felt that Steve Rogers would receive a lot more back pay from the military.
Not to be outdone by the controversy the United States army had their say in the matter when they issued an official response on the topic:
“If Capt. Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) were not a fictional character and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and recovery actually real, he may actually be entitled to receive back pay,” Army spokesman Wayne Hall told Business Insider. “However, a wide variety of variables would have to be taken into consideration to actually calculate the true amount of back pay to which he would be entitled to receive; given that he is a fictional character we cannot truly capture all of those variables accurately.”
Regardless of the true amount of money that Captain America would be owed by the U.S. Military one thing is clear, Captain America Civil War is breaking more records at the box office and is set to be another hit movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
